My POTS
I like simple Scandinavian shapes, I love seasonal flowers and colour in nature. I enjoy the life affirming times of celebration- from sitting round a table full of colourful dishes of food and vases of flowers with family and friends or with 30,000 + other music lovers with sounds drifting across the field and fluttering festival banners.
I am interested in introducing people to the delights of hand made pots at a price they can afford and in a setting they don’t expect to encounter them. Also, interesting them to come and try making some themselves at my studio.
I make a variety of stoneware pots for the home. Most have a satin white glaze decorated with coloured stripes, though recently I have introduced some with plain matt coloured glazes echoing the colours of the striped pots and with engraved stripes in the clay body. These “sit with” the striped pots well.
As well as the striped pots I make some plain coloured gloss plates and bowls for eating.
All pots are fired to 1270 degrees C and are dishwasher and microwave safe.
For the past 10 years (not counting the Covid years) Paul and I have been selling pots at music festivals where we love to set up camp, meet our trader friends, listen to music and get to meet the customers who often come back each year to add to their pot collection . Each of those years we have traded at Womad and Greenbelt, and have also sold at Latitude and Wilderness festivals a couple of times.
When people come to our stand at festivals the words they often use to describe the pots and the stand are “ joyful” “ happy” and “colourful” .
